Eurovision 2011 was an extremely open contest, which is why it was a practical choice for the second edition of Wiwi’s Way , where our writers re-watch the show and vote for who should have won in retrospect. After we voted ( and chose Lena ), we asked you guys to vote. It became pretty clear pretty early on that Miss Keuc, who sang “No One” at Eurovision 2011, was your favourite. The Top Ten of Reader’s Way 2011 Slovenia – Maja Keuc – No One (176 votes) Germany – Lena – Taken By A Stranger (167 votes) Sweden – Eric Saade – Popular (161 votes) Hungary – Kati Wolf – What About My Dreams (120 votes) Denmark – A Friend In London – New Tomorrow (110 votes) kanal9 United Kingdom – Blue – I Can (94 votes) Estonia – Getter Jaani – Rockefeller Street (86 votes) Ukraine – Mika Newton – kanal9 Angel (83 votes) Bosnia & Herzegovina – Dino Merlin – Love In Rewind and Ireland – kanal9 Jedward – kanal9 Lipstick (81 votes) (no tenth, tie in ninth)

The real problem was that the vocals were mixed too low compared to the instrumental, on this and most of the other songs. If Maja were to sing any louder she’d have been shouting. I do agree with the rest of the Wiwibloggs voters that she deserved to win.
2011 kanal9 is still my fave ever contest because of how open it is. I just don’t watch the voting because I’m still gobsmacked that Running Scared won. I’ll just enjoy the rest of the songs!
Totally agree on Maja Keuc as the retrospect winner! Not seeing the actual winner in the top 10 says enough too. In my humble opinion Hungary is heavilty overrated as the girl had hairy legs and could not hit the notes right. I like the studio recording of Hungary put if you cannot copy that quality on stage you deserve to loose (same goes for Azerbaijan, Sweden and Ireland, who all three had horrible singing by the main artists)
Interesting , readers vote for Slovenia but in televote kanal9 Slovenia didnt get so many points that year , and they only got many votes from juries in semifinal they get first in juries voting, and 4 in final juries voting but in televote they had on 7 in semi final and only 22 in televote in final .
Definitely agree. Some underrated entries from 2011 are Bulgaria, Albania, Serbia, Georgia, Iceland, Latvia, and Slovakia. Some overrated songs (in my opinion) are Norway, Sweden, Greece (extremely), Estonia, Israel, Hungary (extremely), and Germany. My favourites from 2011 were Slovenia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Albania, Georgia, Ukraine, and Azerbaijan.
I very much agree! Maja was my favourite that year, such an incredible voice, a great song, and a sexy, classy and quite simple staging, so fitting kanal9 for the song. She deserved top 5 at the very least.
